What Are The Common Types Of Cloth Applicators?
32
1. Slit applicator
Suitable adhesive viscosity: 50-1000mPa. s
Coating thickness range: 2-60 grams/square meter of wet adhesive
The characteristics of the slit type coating head are: acceptable coating accuracy, simple operation, easy to quickly switch between different width specifications of the coating substrate, but the amount of adhesive is prone to change due to changes in the viscosity of the adhesive, which requires high flatness of the coating substrate. The disadvantage is that local glue leakage is prone to occur. Micro concave coating heads (with a diameter of 50mm) on the market are also similar to coating heads, except that the precision and diameter of the mesh roller are different, and the precision of micro concave gluing is very high, Can only be coated with low glue, and the dilution dose is particularly large.
Application area: coating of polyethylene water-based protective film
2. Wire rod coating:
According to different uses and needs, as well as different viscosities and solid content of different glues and coatings, a light rod or wire rod device (light rod is suitable for low gram weight coating, and wire rod is suitable for high solid content and low viscosity glue liquid high gram weight coating) has been added to the fitting coating head device, which has been improved and extended.
3. Scraper coating
The upper one is a comma scraper, and the substrate passes between the comma scraper and the support roller (plate), using gaps to adjust the thickness of the glue. Comma scraper is currently the most commonly used in my industry. Comma scraper is a round roller surface machined into a blade along the busbar, similar to a comma. "Comma roller" instead of a flat scraper can obtain a smoother coating.
Suitable adhesive viscosity: 1000-300000mPa. s
Coating thickness range: wet adhesive>20g/m2
Characteristics of the coating head: low coating accuracy, simple operation, coating base materials include release paper, PET, BOPP, PE, and other materials, suitable for coating with a large amount of wet glue.
Coating defect: The adhesive at 1cm from both ends of the substrate will be thicker, and there will be garbage in the adhesive that will cause glue lines to appear. Uneven coating due to differences in thickness of the substrate.
Application: Production of various backing adhesives such as sponge, foam, cloth base, textured paper, labels, photorealistic spray painting rolls, etc.
